Position yourself to be needed. “Value” isn’t about virtue; it’s about usefulness in the eyes of others. Society rewards not the good, but the functional, those who fulfill needs, desires, or demands, regardless of morality. To be a “man of value” is to be a tool others can depend on, benefit from, or exploit. If you’re not useful, you’re forgotten. Take it as a call to understand the transactional nature of the world — and choose carefully what you offer, and to whom.
